The sound of the morning birds awoke Alice from her slumber. She glanced around the room through blurred eyes. It was unfamiliar to her. The first thing noticed was it was filled with hospital equipment. Machines that would beep and boop to tell you how close someone was to death. Bags of strange fluid. A tray of surgical tools. As her vision slowly began to return to her, she noticed that she wasn't in a hospital room, but rather a small guest bedroom that seemed to be turned into one in a hurry. Looking down at her own body, she discovered was completely covered in bandages, you could mistake her for a mummy. But strangely, she wasn't in any pain, save for a small headache. She was also feeling a bit hungry, just how long had she been here? She rolled out of bed and tried to get a better idea of where she was. Looking out the window, she saw a long tar runway. She guessed, she was in some sort of airport. She always liked airports. Even since she was a kid, she wanted to fly. But if this was an airport, where were all the planes? Why was it so quiet around here?

As if to answer her question, the bedroom door swung open and in stepped a one-eyed nurse. She wear a red and blue uniform and was carrying a large number of clipboards. She just as shocked to see Alice up and about as Alice was to see her. "Ah ha! Good morning!" She said in a thick accent, dropping her clipboards to the ground. "Good to see you're up and about." The nurse then came over and examined Alice. "Incredible." She said, giving Alice's body a poke here and there. "You've made a full recover already. I think these bandages are ready to come off, Alice."

"Excuse me, but how do you know my name?" Alice asked, confused by this strange woman. The Nurse stopped what she was doing and looked Alice in the eye. "You don't remember who I am?" She asked. Alice shook her head. "No." She answered. "I don't even remember how I got here." The Nurse had another look at Alice's head. "Must be a slight case of amnesia. Considering what you went through, we should count ourselves lucky." The Nurse said. "Can you remember your full name?"
Alice thought for a moment. "Alice..." She said. "Alice Airborne." The Nurse smiled. "Yes, yes very good!" She said cheerfully. "Do you remember anything else?" Memories slowly began flooding back to Alice. "I'm from Dawn Plains. My father own farm there." She finally said. "I came here...to save it."

It was becoming clearer now. The lord of Dawn Plains raised taxes again and her family couldn't pay them. The lord was going to take the farm away, throw them out into the wild. So came here, to save the farm. She said she would help her. The captain...
"Captain Cloud!" Alice finally blurted out. "Is she here?" The nurse smile. "Yes, yes. She's downstairs in the hanger." The one-eyed nurse told her. "Would you like me to get her for you?" "No, no, I'll go see her." Alice said excitedly, tugging at her bandages. "Could you help me with these?" The Nurse grabbed a pair of scissors. "But of course." She cheerfully, cutting Alice free of her linen prison. "I'm Dr Blanche Blue-Heaven, by the way."

Slowly but surely, the bandages were removed. Underneath, Alice's skin was perfectly unscarred, not a single scratch was to found. In fact the only thing that was different about her was a small metal cap covering her belly button. "You did an amazing job, Doc." Alice said, looking over her skin. "Why did I need so many bandages anyway?" "To put it simply, you were caught in a explosion, then fell from a great high." Dr Blue Heaven said, pulled out some old clothes from a drawer and handing them to Alice. "Also shot at a few times." Alice wasn't sure to believe the good doctor or not. As far as she could tell, she was perfectly fine. "That really happen, Doc?" Alice asked, putting on the clothes, a shirt, pants, boots and fresh part of underpants. Blanche looked her straight in the eye. "Ya, I had to bring you in here with a bucket. If not for Zee-Value I implanted into you, I would be burying you in same bucket!" The Doc said, tapping Alice's metal belly button cap. Alice wasn't sure just what Blanche was on about, but was thankful to be alive none the less. She finished tying her boots and followed the good doctor to the hanger.

As they walked, Alice was amazed on how energetic she felt. She wasn't sure if it was the Doc's surgery or the promise of saving her family farm, but she hadn't felt this good in years. The same could not be said for the hanger. It was old and dusty and there were holes in the roof. No planes either. The only aircraft that was in the hanger was an old blimp, which had been stripped for parts. In the corner of the room she noticed a collection of old leather armchairs. In one of them sat a dark skinned woman dressed in a military uniform, red and blue just like Blanche's clothing. She was talking on the phone and from the tone of her voice, she wasn't happy. "I don't care how much gold they got backing them, if I catch your slimy windbags near our airfield again, there won't be enough left of them to make balloon animals!" She howled down the phone line, before noticing Alice out of the corner of her eye. "Know what? I'll call you back."

She slammed down the phone and jumped to her feet. "Alice, honey, is that you?" The woman said, rushing over and embracing Alice in a big hug. "You're alive, baby. You're alive." A light went on in Alice's head as she remembered just who this woman was. "Captain Cloud?" Alice said, struggling again the woman's bear hug. "Are you Captain Cloud?" The woman then let go of Alice and saluted. "Captain Chicago Cloud, at your service." The Captain said with a smile. "Leader of the Free Blimps and best damn heavy bomber in the sky." The Captain took a moment to inspect Alice. "And look at you! You look better than the day we met!" Cloud said excitedly. "Doctor, you're a miracle worker!"
"Well, I do what I can." Dr Blue Heaven said, shaking her head in fake modestly. "Captain Cloud!" Alice interrupted. "You said you would help me save my father's farm?" The Captain sharply turned back to Alice. "Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about that. Walk with me and I'll tell you my plan." Cloud explained, picking up a coffee pot from the table. "Wanna cup?"

It wasn't the best cup of coffee Alice had ever tasted in her life, but she hadn't eaten in God knows how long, so she was thankful for it. Still there was something odd about it. It made her stomach feel strange. Not painful, just strange. "The nobles who rule this land have these air combat  tournaments, where Zelkyires each to win big money and more land for their Houses. Just about every conflict over territory is solved with a Zelkyire Match." Captain Cloud explained as they toured the old hanger. "Thing is, these tournaments are open to any Zelkyires, even those without masters. All we need to do is enter this tournament, win the rights to your farm and your family never has to worry about nobles again!" Blue Heaven sighed. "You make it sound so easy, dear captain." The Doc said. "Noble Zelkyires are hardly push overs." The Captain just snorted. "Those butt kissing party balloons may have better toys than us, but we got something they'll never have. Brains, Hearts and plenty of Guts!" She cheered loudly "Plus we got our a new ace on our side. Ain't that right, Alice?"

Alice quietly took another sip of coffee. The Captain's plan was quite frankly, madness. Taking on a noble house? It was madness! Still there was something about this idea that Alice was attracted to. Mostly, the term "Air Combat." That meant she would be flying in something. Maybe even in her own plane! Better yet, she would be able to do it while saving her family's farm! There was just one problem.

"What are going to use for aircraft?" She asked. Captain Cloud and Blue Heaven just chuckled. "Honey, we are the aircraft." The Captain said. But before Alice could ask what she meant by that, her clothes suddenly felt very tight. "Oh dear, I think the coffee may have activated the Zee-value pre-maturely." The Doctor stated, slowly backing away from Alice. "What does that mean?" Alice asked, starting become worried as her clothes continue to shirk on her. "Well Alice, it means you're about to become very thankful you're wearing someone else's clothes today." Cloud answered, also backing away.
Trying to figure out what the Captain was talking about, Alice looked down at herself. It then dawned on her that her clothes weren't shrinking. She was growing. Buttons popped off her shirt as her stomach inflated like massive balloon. Her breasts followed suite, expanding until they were bigger than head and refusing to stop. She tied to pushed them down, only to notice her arms were swelling up too, bursting out of their sleeves. Alice screamed and looked around for something to slow down the growth, only to notice her bottom had grown so large and bloated, it had ripped her pants in two. Her legs, blowing up at tremendous speed, ripped whatever was left of her pants to shreds. Not even her boots were safe from Alice ever expanding bulk as she burst out of them.
And there was Alice, a huge, round, bloated girl in her underwear and she was still inflating bigger and bigger. "Doc! Captain!" She cried as her body swelled with some unknown element. "How do I make it stop!?" "Alice! Listen to me!" She heard Cloud call out. "Just relax, let it run its course!" Relax? Relax?! How could she relax when at any moment she could explode! It was at that moment, she noticed that Captain Cloud had shrunk. In fact every had. No wait, they were shirking, Alice was growing! Her body had inflated to the size of a parade balloon and inflating more and more by the second. Her bra and panties now just barely visible bits of ribbon just holding onto her decency. Oh God, she really was going to pop! She clamped her eyes shut and braced herself.
There was then two loud snaps as Alice's ever expanding body ripped apart her underwear. Alice open her eyes and desperately tried to cover her shame. It was at this moment, a red and blue uniform seem to just appear on Alice, as if she just summon it out of nowhere onto her own massive body. It even came with boots, cap and a pair of flying goggles. Alice was so taken back by the turn of events, she didn't notice she was still growing. She inflated bigger and bigger, but no matter how huge she got, the uniform refused to rip. Instead it simply just grew with her.

When Alice finally stopped inflating, she was a massive blimp of a woman. As big as a building, bigger than any building back in her home town. She breathed heavily, in a mix of fear and relief. Suddenly she heard a voice in her ear. "Alice, Alice can you hear me?" It was Captain Cloud's voice, only it sounded like it coming through a radio. Alice poked herself in the ear, only for a microphone to pop out. "He-Hello" Alice stuttered, terrified of what might come next. "Good work, honey. You've pasted the first step of learning how to fly as Zelkyire." Cloud's voice said. Alice let out a sigh. She had no idea what that meant, but it seemed like she wasn't about to explode any time soon. She felt relieved, almost weightless. "Now comes step two." The voice continued. "Now just remember you're perfectly safe here. So when you look down, there is absolutely no reason to scream." Alice wondered what she meant by that, until she noticed her feet were no longer touching the ground. Looking down, she saw she was now floating high above the floor. Alice screamed.

"Ow! Ow! Don't yell into the mike!" The captain shouted back. "How-How do I get down?" Alice cried, now panicking. "Okay Alice, it's easy. You've made yourself lighter than air and that's why you're floating around right now." The voice explained. "Just slowly make yourself heavier and you'll be fine. Just don't active any weapons yet." In a frenzy, Alice began patting herself all over in a bid to figure out how to make herself heavy. On touching her wrist however, she had managed to summon a pair of powerful looking cannons out of them. "Okay Alice, you've summon some wrist cannons." Cloud told Alice, starting to get a bit worried. "Whatever you do, don't fire them-"
But it was too late. Alice's gun went off. Luckily, she didn't hit anyone, but the recoil sent her flying back, through the hanger wall and onto the ground outside. Glad to finally be back ground, Alice decided that maybe it was best if she didn't do anything for the moment. Instead she took a moment to reflex on what had happened today. On just what she had become. She look down at her breasts. God, they were gigantic, each one several times bigger than her own head, but that was hardly doing them justice. You could stuff a car down cleavage and never see it again. Still they were small potatoes compared to her stomach. This great, bloated mountainous beast of a stomach she now had. Out of curiosity, Alice unbuttoned her top to see if this monster was real. Maybe this was just a trick. A dream. But there is was. Meter upon meter of soft pink freckled flesh. This mountain of a belly was hers and hers alone. She didn't even want to think of the giant twin craters her bottom must have left in the ground. Alice had to laugh, through it was little more than a sad depressed chuckle. Back home, everyone would joke about skinny she was. How she would just float away in the wind if she wasn't careful. Guess one of those problems was solved now.

After what seemed like forever, Captain Cloud and Dr Blue Heaven finally appeared. "Amazing, your first time using the Zee-Value and-and you grow to a size of at least 70 feet tall!" The good Doc said, like it was the most exciting thing in the world. Alice was less than thrilled by the news. Alice noticed, that Cloud and Blue Heaven were currently no bigger than her head. Guess it grew along with the rest of her. She just never notice given how small it was compared to the rest of her bloated body. "Gotta be pretty pleased about that, huh Alice?" Cloud stated.

Alice lay there silent for a while. Finally she meekly said "What did you turn me into?"
"A Zelkyire! Or Zeppelin Valkyire." The Good Doc explained. "You see, that Zee-Value, not only healed your wounds, but it also able flood your body with Element Zee, causing you to grow to a gigantic size, defy gravity, use powerful weapons-"
"No." Alice interrupted. "I mean why did you turn me into... this?"
"Alice, you would of died if the Doc didn't insert the Zee-Value in you!" Cloud stated "You should be thanking her." "For turning me into a monster?!" Alice cried. "A big, fat, bloated monster!?"
"Monster?!" Cloud shouted, her voice losing all humour in once had. She grabbed onto Alice's goggles and climbed on top of her face. "Yeah, you might be big and fat, even bloated. But monster? No, you ain't no monster!" Despite being smaller than her own hand, Alice seemed to be  paralyzed by Cloud's sheer force of character. It was all she could but look her right back into eyes. "The monsters are the one's out there. They're the ones who are bleeding the people dry. They're the ones who throw people out on the street just because they want the land their homes are built on. They're the ones who make Zelkyires fight each other to the death for their own amusement. So Alice, you can either have Doc take out the Zee-Value and we pretend we never met or you can stand tall, big, fat and bloated against the monsters who are after your daddy's land!"

It was all Alice could do to think of her family. The way they were overtaxed and treated by their lord. If Cloud was telling the truth, then this was her chance to save them. "Captain." Alice spoke sternly. "Teach me to fly." The Captain smiled and leaped off Alice's head. "Good work honey. You just passed step 2." Cloud announced, both she and Blue Heaven stepping away from Alice. "And don't worry about looking fat." Cloud added as she and Blue Heaven began to inflate, just as Alice had done beforehand. They both grew more and more, blowing up like massive blimps, until finally, they were even more gigantic than Alice was. "You're still the skinniest girl on this team!"
A short story to go along with an Alice and Company picture I commissioned awhile ago. Bit of a rough draft, so there's bound to be spelling mistakes. Always looking for feedback. If people like it, maybe I'll write more.
